A family member of a CIDA employee had been reported COVID 19 positive on last 9th and few days later the CIDA employee was also found positive. Since the close contacts are now under quarantine as a precautionary measure, our Head Office work will be functioning with a minimal staff.

However, all our other centres including CETRAC, CHPB, OTC and District Coordinating Offices will function as normal, subject to government / health restrictions. Once the safety is ensured in the Head Office, normal office work will resume.

We hereby inform all our stakeholders to obtain the services of our District Coordinating Officers, Online facilities (emails / downloading) and other communication facilities (mobile telephones/ text messages) for the needs arising during this period.

Granting a Moratorium for Construction Contractor Registration

1. Moratorium for Registration Validity

   Contractors whose registration validity expires on or after 01.05.2021 will be extended till 31.10.2021 for a period of 06 months, without a vacuum. This will also be applicable for the registrations expired on or after 01.01.2021 and submitted applications but not received extensions due to certain lapses.

   However, Contractors can use the online Systems (limited email facilities and Renewal Online System) and physical submission to our District Offices and to our Head Office for any transaction including Upgrading or New registrations if desired, as our services run uninterrupted with minimum staff.

2. Record Book entries and Registration Fees

   Contractor Record Book endorsements and charging of fees for automatic extensions will be carried out after the restoration of official activities. The extensions will be published in the CIDA Website immediately.

3. Registration Requirements

   During the period under observation as decided by the Board of Management, requirements such as Financial Facilities, EPF Payment records, Project experience considering the availability of works will be waived off, when restoration of registration is done after the moratorium.

1. Submission of Construction Contractor Registration Applications during COVID-19 pandemic situation due to restriction of movements

   Currently Online Registration facility is available for “Renewals” only for grades C3 and above. Until the Full range online platform is established CIDA has decided to receive Applications through emails for Renewals and Upgrading of registrations up to C1. Other categories such as EM, GP and SP will also be accepted. However, “NEW” registrations will only be received through physical submissions while CIDA District Coordinating Officers have also been authorized to carry out this task.

   (2) Thus, critical documents such as Financial Facility, Project Summary and Largest Project will be required as Scanned copies. Minimum number of scanned copies of documents (maximum 05 to 06 copies) will be required in order to avoid bandwidth failures in online operations.

   (3) Applications in soft formats are available for downloading, and duly filled applications can be sent in PDF formats to avoid data losses.

   (4) All scanned copies shall have been authenticated by a Notary Public or an Attorney at Law.

   (5) After completing the evaluation process contractor will get an invoice by email for the payment. Contractors will be able to pay through bank deposit / online transfer or Online Visa/Master card payment gate in the CIDA website.

   (6) Submission of forged documentation and false information will be dealt as per the provisions under section 36 and subsequent criterion depicted under the section 35 of CID Act.
